David Bissette, known professionally as Cloonee, is preparing for a series of high-profile performances, including an appearance at the 2026 Day Trip Festival in San Jose. The artist, who recently announced his debut album "Are You Still You?", discussed his career, creative process, and his unique approach to live shows in a recent interview with the New York Post.

Cloonee is slated to perform on Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Day Trip Festival, held at Discovery Meadow in San Jose, California. The festival lineup also features other prominent house music artists such as Gordo B2B with Vintage Culture, Chris Lorenzo, Eli Brown, Wax Motif, and Script. This event follows a recent sold-out five-hour set at the Brooklyn Army Terminal and a performance at The Edge, a venue 1,100 feet above Manhattan.

Describing his performances, Cloonee noted the appeal of playing during both daytime and nighttime, allowing for a shift in musical styles. "Playing daytime into nighttime is always really nice. You get to play two different styles of music, you get to bring people up and then bring them back down," he explained. He highlighted the striking visual backdrop of his New York City performance at The Edge, with Manhattan's skyline as a backdrop, though he emphasized that even unconventional locations can create an intimate atmosphere.

After 14 years in the music industry, Cloonee has cultivated a reputation for a high-energy, punchy tech-house sound with Latin influences. He produces music from home and began releasing demos on SoundCloud in 2014. By 2020, he was signed to Chris Lake's label, and he now operates his own independent record label, "Good Music For Bad People."

Cloonee's recent single, "Good Girls," a track from his upcoming album, has already achieved No. 1 on Beatport and has been featured at major festivals like Tomorrowland, EDC, and Coachella. His sets are known for incorporating elements of hip-hop into house music seamlessly. His performance repertoire includes his own tracks, such as "Good Girls," collaborations like Prospa's "Free Your Mind," and remixes, including his rendition of CeeLo Green's "Crazy."

The interview also touched upon the broader trend of house music entering the mainstream and the dedicated fandom surrounding DJs. Cloonee's ability to connect with the audience, whether in large industrial spaces or elevated open-air venues, has made his sets a draw for house music enthusiasts.

Beyond his own tour dates, Cloonee is part of a larger wave of EDM artists currently touring. Other notable artists on tour include John Summit, Rüfüs Du Sol, Gryffin, Subtronics, and Steve Aoki.
