The by-election for the Clacton constituency will be held on August 13, Tendring District Council has announced. The date was confirmed after the council received the writ calling for the vote.
The by-election was triggered following the resignation of Nigel Farage as the Member of Parliament for the Essex seat. Farage, the leader of Reform UK, has indicated his intention to stand as a candidate in the upcoming by-election.
Nominations for candidates are scheduled to open on Monday, with the deadline for applications set for Friday, July 17.
