Citrus-Derived Supplement Shows Promise for Lipoedema Relief

A supplement derived from citrus fruit has emerged as a potential non-surgical treatment for lipoedema, a condition characterized by painful swelling in the limbs. Vivien Lees-Hamilton, a 66-year-old who struggled with the condition for over a decade, described her legs as feeling "like I was walking around on tree trunks" due to the extreme swelling and heaviness.

Lees-Hamilton found relief after trying a supplement made from citrus fruit. She reported that her legs felt significantly lighter after using the supplement. "The biggest thing was that my legs felt lighter," she stated, noting that the supplement also reduced the pain associated with lipoedema.

Lipoedema, also known as adipose painful edema, is a chronic condition affecting fat distribution, primarily in the legs and arms, leading to disproportionate enlargement and pain. While not fully understood, it is believed to have a genetic component and is more common in women. Lees-Hamilton, who had previously been reluctant to explore treatments for her condition, eventually sought alternatives, leading her to the citrus-derived supplement.

The supplement's effectiveness is attributed to its citrus-derived components, which are thought to aid in reducing inflammation and fluid retention characteristic of lipoedema. This dietary approach offers a potential alternative or complementary therapy for those seeking to manage the symptoms of the condition.
