Cindy Crawford Recalled Cherishing Son Presley's Bond with Sister Kaia
The model spoke about her children's close relationship in an interview months before Presley Gerber's death at 27.
Cindy Crawford reflected on the deep connection between her children, Presley and Kaia Gerber, in an interview conducted just months before Presley's death at age 27.
"Nothing makes, I think, a parent prouder than when your kids like each other and love each other," Crawford told People magazine in May. At the time, the family had recently collaborated on a spring campaign for the brand Vuori.
Crawford, 60, described the experience of working with her children and husband, Rande Gerber, as "amazing," noting it was a special opportunity to spend time together. She also shared her appreciation for hearing her children speak about her and her husband during the interview.
Presley Gerber died on Sunday at an undisclosed rehabilitation facility in California, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. A cause of death has not yet been released.
In the months leading up to his death, Presley had spoken openly about his struggles with addiction and mental health in interviews and on social media. In March, he posted on Instagram about beginning to find his way back to himself and expressed hope that it would be the last time he needed to seek treatment.
Kaia Gerber, in a September cover story for Vogue, praised her brother's candor, referring to him as a "greatest teacher" for demonstrating that "there's only so much you can hide from the world." She reflected on how Presley's addiction issues impacted their family, noting that such experiences can "level everyone."
Kaia also stated that she had begun to identify as "the easy one" in the family, partly because she did not want to ask for help, contrasting this with her parents' private nature regarding personal matters throughout their lives.
