Cindy Crawford described her late son, Presley Gerber, as a "sweet, beautiful soul" in heartfelt tributes shared weeks after his death. Presley Gerber, a model and son of Crawford and Rande Gerber, died on September 20, 2026, at the age of 27 while staying at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles. His cause of death has been deferred by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, and the Santa Monica Police Department is investigating the death as a suspected overdose.

"We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother. We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years," Crawford wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of her son. "He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever."

Crawford expressed gratitude for public support during the family's "painful time." Presley's younger sister, Kaia Gerber, also shared her grief, calling her brother her "ultimate teacher," "best buddy," and "great protector." "I love my brother. My brother is dead," Kaia wrote in a poignant Instagram post. "And this party sucks so bad without you, prez."

Months before his death, Presley Gerber had publicly documented his struggles with addiction and his efforts to seek treatment. In March 2026, he posted about undergoing an "ibogaine flood dose," a psychedelic treatment for addiction, in Mexico. He described the experience as terrifying but ultimately helpful in his journey toward recovery.

"I faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, I started finding my way back to myself," he wrote at the time, expressing hope that it would be the last time he needed such treatment.

Gerber had spoken candidly in recent years about his experiences with depression, panic attacks, and addiction. In a 2023 podcast appearance, he discussed the constant effort required to manage his mental health and his desire to help others avoid similar struggles. "What I hope I can do is have made the mistakes for some other people, so they don’t have to make the same mistakes that I made," he said.

Presley Gerber was the only son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. His death has prompted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his final hours at the rehabilitation facility.
