Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber Mourn Son Presley's Death
Supermodel couple share heartbreak after Presley Gerber dies at 27 in rehab.
Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber are mourning the loss of their son, Presley Gerber, who died at the age of 27 while in a rehabilitation facility. The couple confirmed the news in a statement posted to Crawford's Instagram account.
“We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother,” the statement read. “We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever. We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability.”
Presley died on September 20 from a suspected overdose, according to reports, though a confirmed cause of death has not been released. He is survived by his parents and his sister, Kaia Gerber, 25.
In the years leading up to his death, Presley spoke openly about his struggles with addiction and mental health. In a 2023 podcast appearance, he discussed battling depression and other related issues, noting that he spent significant time in therapy. He also shared on Instagram in 2024 about dealing with a high opioid addiction.
In March, Presley had expressed hope about his recovery, stating on Instagram, “We shall see. Praying it’s the last time I have to come back [to treatment]. Next time I’d like to choose.”
His sister, Kaia, had praised him in August for sharing his struggles publicly, telling Vogue that his openness about his difficulties made her initially hesitant to seek help herself.
“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything — and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone,’” Kaia said.
When news of Presley's death broke, the family issued a joint statement requesting privacy during their time of grief.
Crawford and Gerber, who married in 1998, welcomed Presley in 1999 as their first child.
