Christy Carlson Romano Recounts Lindsay Lohan's Past Insult at Hollywood Hotspot

Christy Carlson Romano has shared an anecdote detailing an instance where fellow child star Lindsay Lohan made a dismissive remark about her at the Chateau Marmont. The former Disney Channel actress recounted the encounter on the red carpet at the second annual "Virtual Reali-Tea" Awards, an event held in New York City.

Romano, 42, recalled that she encountered Lohan, 40, at the famed Los Angeles hotel. "I remember one time I was at the Chateau Marmont and I had seen her out in New York one time, it was like an awkward exchange of meeting one another," Romano told Page Six. "And then I was at the Chateau and then she was kind of like glancing my way and she goes, ‘I guess they’re letting anyone in here.'"

Despite the comment, Romano stated she holds no animosity, referring to the remark with a sense of humor. "I got so much shade, but you know what, savage — points for being savage," she joked.

Romano suggested that societal pressures at the time may have contributed to competitiveness among young actresses, noting that she and Lohan were prominent figures during a similar era of Disney stardom. "I think everyone has grown into these very different lifestyles too, like, where Lindsay is, where Hilary [Duff] is, like, where I am, it’s all so weird," she reflected, adding that all three are now mothers.

These reflections are featured in Romano's new memoir, "Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Rise and Fall of a Child Star," which was released concurrently with her comments. The book also touches on another past interaction with Lohan, where Romano attempted to discuss Hilary Duff with Lohan, Lohan's "Cadet Kelly" co-star. Romano described Lohan's reaction as a blank stare followed by an annoyed smile, leading Romano to retreat from the conversation.

In her memoir, Romano detailed her own struggles as a child star, including experiences with cocaine and bulimia, and her eventual decision to leave Los Angeles due to what she described as an unhealthy lifestyle.

The "Virtual Reali-Tea" Awards were sponsored by Tri-State Cadillac, CoverGirl, Philo, and Kahlúa.
