Christopher Nolan's latest film, "The Odyssey," has achieved significant box office success since its July 17 release, earning over $124 million in its opening weekend. This debut marks the director's largest since "The Dark Knight Rises" in 2012. The film has garnered nearly $700 million globally and holds a 94% Tomatometer score and a 97% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The action fantasy film features a prominent cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Samantha Morton, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron. "The Odyssey" is currently playing nationwide in theaters, with tickets available via Fandango.
Streaming and VOD Availability
While "The Odyssey" is not yet available for streaming, its release on Video on Demand (VOD) is anticipated in the coming months. Based on the release timeline of Nolan's 2023 film "Oppenheimer," which became available for VOD purchase in November after a July theatrical debut, "The Odyssey" is expected to follow a similar schedule. A VOD release is estimated for November 2026, making it available on platforms such as Amazon and iTunes.
As a Universal Pictures release, "The Odyssey" is expected to eventually stream on Peacock. "Oppenheimer" became available on Peacock approximately seven months after its theatrical run. If "The Odyssey" adheres to a comparable schedule, its streaming debut on Peacock could occur around February 2027.
Peacock offers two subscription tiers: Premium, which costs $10.99 per month with ads, and Premium Plus, which is ad-free and priced at $16.99 per month. Annual plans are available, offering 12 months for the price of 10, at $109.99 with ads or $169.99 without ads. The Premium Plus subscription is also accessible through Amazon Prime Video with a seven-day free trial. The film is currently exclusively in theaters nationwide.
