Christine McGuinness has described her living situation with ex-husband Paddy McGuinness as "strange," as he reportedly moves on with a new partner.

Paddy McGuinness is said to be dating Emma Carey, a publicist at BBC Radio 2, following his split from Christine in 2022 after 11 years of marriage. Despite their separation, the couple has continued to live in the same Cheshire mansion, sharing separate wings, to avoid unsettling their three children: twins Penelope and Leo, both 13, and Felicity, 10, who are all on the autism spectrum.

In a clip from an upcoming appearance on Ireland's Unfiltered With Lucy Kennedy Show, Christine McGuinness stated, "He's been a huge part of my life, I met him at 19. I suppose, it will be strange living without him one day." She added that while they have been separated for three years, the arrangement currently "works" as they have their own space and get along well.

"We have separate wings, we are very fortunate, we have our own space. Even still, I don't know anybody that would be so comfortable living with their ex," McGuinness shared, emphasizing that they remain a significant part of each other's lives. She noted their continued good relationship is a "blessing" and that they tell each other when they plan to go on dates.

Paddy McGuinness, 52, and Emma Carey were reportedly seen having dinner in London, with one onlooker telling The Sun that they appeared "incredibly comfortable together" and "laughed a lot."

The former couple has prioritized their children's routines and well-being throughout their separation. Christine McGuinness has previously spoken about the challenges of divorce, admitting it was a "difficult and challenging" time. However, she found their co-parenting arrangement to be beneficial, especially given their children's specific needs.

"A lot of families that have got children with special educational needs choose to do it this way," McGuinness explained. "Maybe they don't talk about it so much, but they're the ones who really get it and understand it." She also stated that she has no immediate plans to sell the family home, which she considers the children's home to grow up in.

McGuinness has also been open about her own dating life, stating that she would never bring a date back to the family home she shares with Paddy and that any new relationships would be introduced to the children very gradually over a long period.
