Christine Lampard has described becoming a mother at the age of 39 as a "complete blessing" and admitted she would have had more children if she had started her family earlier. Lampard, 47, is married to former footballer Frank Lampard, and the couple have two children: daughter Patricia, seven, and son Freddie, five.

Lampard shared that it was actually her husband who first suggested they start a family, as she had been content with their life as a couple. "We've been together 18 years," she explained. "So we kind of went through years of just having a really nice life. It was just us. We were sort of happy doing our thing. And then it was actually more Frank. Frank said, 'Look, we really should maybe think about this because I know you're going to love it.' And I thought, 'Well, yeah, maybe I, maybe I would.'"

Following the birth of her two children, Lampard found the experience profoundly rewarding. "It was just a complete, it just felt like a complete blessing. And that's the truth. I really loved it," she said. "I'd have had more if I'd started younger. I would have, if I could have. But I would have. Honestly, I really, really enjoyed it."

She noted that even with two children, the demands of parenthood are significant, but ultimately worthwhile. "It is. It's a real blessing," she added.

Lampard also expressed enjoyment in observing her children progress through different stages of development. "Every single phase, you kind of, I've loved the next phase even more," she stated. "I've got that beautiful spot at the moment where they're still quite young and baby-ish, but they're old enough to hold your hand and talk about their day and tell you what they want and if they're hungry and there's no guessing anymore. And actually, I'm loving this phase now as well."

Regarding her children's developing personalities, Lampard mentioned that her son Freddie possesses a "dry sense of humour," while her daughter Patricia is more emotional and sentimental. "My little girl's very emotional and very attentive. Very, very sentimental. I mean I would not be allowed to throw anything out that she's ever made."

The TV presenter, 47, tied the knot with footballer Frank in 2015 and the two went on to welcome daughter Patricia, seven, and son Freddie, five

Her aspirations for her children are focused on character rather than achievement. "All I ever care about, I don't need them to be Einsteins. I don't need them to do anything. I don't really care. I just want them to be healthy, happy and kind, good people and right morals and values," she said.

Lampard is also a stepmother to Luna, 20, and Isla, 19, from Frank Lampard's previous relationship with model Elen Rives.
