Christina Applegate has shared a video update with her fans following a monthslong hospital stay for ongoing health issues. The "Anchorman" actor, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021, returned home in March and recently posted a video message using her characteristic dark humor.
"Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha," Applegate wrote on Monday in a social media post, thanking her hairstylist for brightening her day. "Love you and love to you all out there."
Applegate had previously addressed her hospitalization in March, thanking fans for their support. "Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day," she wrote at the time. "I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough."
She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis after experiencing symptoms for approximately six to seven years prior to her official diagnosis while filming the Netflix series "Dead to Me." Applegate has been open about the mental and physical challenges associated with the disease, which affects the brain and spinal cord. She also co-hosts the podcast "MeSsy" with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, another actress living with MS.
