Christina Applegate has reportedly been discharged from the hospital, where she had been admitted in late March. An insider told TMZ on Monday that the actress is now home and in good condition.
Applegate, 54, has been publicly living with multiple sclerosis (MS) since 2021. The autoimmune condition affects the brain and spinal cord, and can lead to symptoms such as numbness, weakness, walking difficulties, and vision changes, according to the Mayo Clinic. It remains unclear if Applegate's hospitalization was directly related to her MS diagnosis.
A representative for Applegate did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Page Six. Previously, when asked about her health, the representative stated, "She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about."
Following her hospitalization, Applegate addressed her health on Instagram, thanking fans for their support. "Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day," she wrote. "I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough."
David Faustino, Applegate's co-star from "Married… with Children," shared an update on her condition in June, describing her MS battle as "a real blow" but noting her enduring sense of humor. "She gets through this with some humor, and that’s kind of her way that she moves through it," Faustino told Us Weekly. "I do a lot of visits with her. A lot of texting, a lot of checking in."
Applegate has previously been open about the challenges of her MS diagnosis. In August 2025, she shared on her "MeSsy" podcast that she had been hospitalized due to a kidney infection that caused significant pain. She also revealed in February that she had been confined to her bed, though she continued to prioritize taking her daughter, Sadie, to school. "I want to take her; it’s my favorite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves," she told People at the time. "I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do."
Applegate has also spoken about the impact of her illness on her teenage daughter, Sadie, who has expressed missing the person her mother was before her diagnosis.
