Supermodel Christie Brinkley, 72, made a striking return to the runway at New York Fashion Week, appearing for the first time in seven years at Dennis Basso’s Spring 2027 ready-to-wear show.

Brinkley captivated the audience in a nude-colored, off-the-shoulder gown adorned with intricate silver beading along the bust and hip. The dress featured a thigh-high slit and dramatic draping at the waist. Her blonde hair was styled with a deep side part and glamorous waves, complemented by dangling gold earrings, glittering gold heels, and a red lip.

This marked Brinkley's first runway walk since 2019, when she and her daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, participated in the Elie Tahari show. Brinkley shared the moment on her Instagram, expressing gratitude to Dennis Basso for the opportunity and highlighting the need for greater representation of older women in the industry.

"Thank you to @dennisbasso for giving this honor to a 72-and-a-half-year-old seasoned woman... we still don’t see enough of us represented," Brinkley wrote in her caption, adding that she felt like a "princess" during the show. She also thanked the audience for their support.

Friends and fellow celebrities congratulated Brinkley in the comments section of her post, with Alexa Ray Joel calling her "Golden Mamacita! Forever vivacious and gorgeous," and actress Lisa Datz describing her as "Stunning and so joyful." Brinkley's daughter, Sailor, simply commented, "You’re the cutest. I love you."

In August, Brinkley shared with the Daily Mail that she maintains her fitness through gardening, describing the physical work involved in tending to her garden. "My diet is eating what I grow!" she also stated.

Speaking about aging in a June interview with Social Life Magazine, Brinkley remarked on the sense of freedom that comes with age. "I think that with age you get... freer," she said. "You do what you wanna do when you wanna do it. I think that there's a freedom that comes with age that's quite wonderful. You don't really care what anybody thinks about your outfit anymore."

While Brinkley has acknowledged using Botox and laser treatments, she reportedly receives injectable filler only once a year for her marionette lines.
