Supermodel Christie Brinkley, 72, made a striking return to the runway after a seven-year hiatus, walking in Dennis Basso’s Spring 2027 ready-to-wear show at New York Fashion Week.

Brinkley showcased a nude-colored, off-the-shoulder gown adorned with intricate silver beading on the bust and hip. The dress featured a thigh-high slit and dramatic waist draping. Her blonde hair was styled in voluminous waves with a side part, complemented by dangling gold earrings, glittering heels, and a red lip.

This appearance marks Brinkley's first time on the runway since 2019, when she and her daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, walked in the Elie Tahari show. Brinkley shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a video of her walk and thanking Dennis Basso for the opportunity. "Thank you to @dennisbasso for giving this honor to a 72-and-a-half-year-old seasoned woman... we still don’t see enough of us represented," she wrote in the caption, expressing that she felt like a "princess."

She also acknowledged the supportive audience, sharing, "And thank you to the wonderfully generous audience for the smiles laughter and high fives... it all added up to be a very special day!"

Friends and fans reacted positively to Brinkley's return. Alexa Ray Joel commented, "Golden Mamacita! Forever vivacious and gorgeous," while actress Lisa Datz described the appearance as "Stunning and so joyful." Brinkley's daughter, Sailor, added, "You’re the cutest. I love you."

In August, Brinkley told the Daily Mail that her fitness routine includes gardening, involving heavy compost bags and physical tasks like digging and sawing branches. She also shared her philosophy on aging, stating in a June interview with Social Life Magazine that with age comes freedom and a reduced concern for others' opinions. Brinkley has spoken about occasional Botox and laser treatments, and reportedly uses injectable fillers once a year for marionette lines. She has been a lifelong vegetarian and follows a diet of what she grows.
