Christian Horner Faces Backlash Over $95 Book Tour Tickets Post-£67 Million Payoff

Christian Horner, who received a £67 million payoff after his dismissal from Red Bull last year following a sexual harassment investigation, is now charging Formula One fans up to £75 for tickets to his upcoming book tour. The tour promotes the launch of his memoir, "Drive," which is set to be released next Thursday.

The 52-year-old has drawn criticism from fans for the pricing of his nine-day book tour, which is scheduled to begin Saturday night at the Barbican Theatre in York. Social media platforms have seen an influx of disappointed comments regarding the cost of the autobiography tour tickets.

"You’ve got to be kidding! I wouldn’t pay a penny to see him," wrote Ruth Charlton on Facebook. Another commenter, Carla Daff, stated, "I’d rather give the ticket money to a charity than sit and listen to him. Can’t stand the man." Joanne Teager expressed a similar sentiment: "I’d rather poke my eyes in."

The memoir is described as delving into the significant moments of Horner's career, including the highs and lows of his tenure at the pinnacle of motorsport. According to his tour website, attendees who purchase the tickets will have the opportunity to participate in a live question-and-answer session.

Horner, husband of former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, was dismissed as CEO and Team Principal of Red Bull's Formula One team in July 2025 after a 20-year leadership period. The couple's combined wealth is estimated at £440 million.

His severance payment of £67 million was reported last week. This dismissal followed an investigation into allegations of misconduct related to a texting scandal with a female employee. Horner has consistently denied the allegations, and two internal investigations concluded he was cleared of any wrongdoing. However, an anonymous email that surfaced publicly contained alleged intimate text messages and photographs exchanged between Horner and the employee prior to the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix.
