Christian Authors Known for Forgiveness Books Arrested on Child Abuse Charges

Prominent Christian authors Seth Michael Day and Heather Thompson Day, known for their writings on faith and forgiveness, have been arrested in Texas and charged with child abuse. The couple, both 39, were taken into custody on Friday in Johnson County, according to authorities.

The accusations surfaced after a high school teacher contacted police, leading to an investigation by the Keene Police Department. A minor alleged that Seth Day physically assaulted them, striking their face and chest with a cell phone. Officers observed visible cuts and bruises on the victim.

Heather Day, an author and podcast host, is accused of witnessing the alleged assault and failing to intervene. The report states she instructed the child to wear a mask to conceal the injuries and to mislead medical professionals about the cause of the harm.

Further investigation led to Seth Day, a psychology professor at Southwestern Adventist University, being charged with felony sexual assault of a child. The university has placed him on administrative leave. The couple resides in Keene, a community with a significant Seventh-day Adventist population, a faith tradition to which both Seth and Heather Day belong.

Ironically, the Days co-authored the book "I'll See You Tomorrow," which explores biblical principles of forgiveness and advocates for perseverance in difficult relationships. The book's description highlights the importance of "showing up for one another—even when we feel like walking away" and addresses "relational disappointment, conflict, and fear."
