Chrisleys Hit With New $1.5 Million Tax Lien Post-Pardon

Todd and Julie Chrisley are facing a new federal tax lien totaling over $1.5 million, filed by the IRS for unpaid taxes, according to records obtained by Page Six. This development comes more than a year after President Donald Trump issued them a presidential pardon in May 2025 for their previous convictions of tax evasion and bank fraud.

The tax lien, filed in Davidson County, Tennessee, on August 19, 2026, outlines two separate unpaid tax assessments: $142,410.72 for the tax period ending December 31, 2021, and $1,429,041.89 for the period ending December 31, 2022. The IRS assessments were dated December 5, 2022, and December 11, 2023, respectively.

The couple, formerly of the reality show "Chrisley Knows Best," were convicted in June 2022 on charges of conspiring to defraud banks and evade federal taxes. Prosecutors alleged they obtained more than $36 million in fraudulent loans by submitting falsified financial documents, using the funds for luxury items and real estate.

Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison in November 2022, while Julie Chrisley received a seven-year sentence. Both were also ordered to serve periods of supervised release. They reported to prison in January 2023, with Todd serving his time in Pensacola, Florida, and Julie in Tallahassee, Florida.

During their incarceration, Todd reportedly taught a financial class, and Julie taught a real estate class, according to their daughter Savannah Chrisley. Their prison sentences concluded in May 2025, following Trump's pardon, which also eliminated their supervised release requirements. They were released and reunited shortly thereafter.

Despite the presidential pardon covering their federal fraud and evasion convictions, the new tax lien pertains to separate unpaid tax liabilities. The Chrisleys have since resumed public life, hosting a podcast titled "Chrisley Confessions 2.0."
