New York Mets prospect Chris Suero is navigating a difficult season at the plate as he works to advance from Double-A Binghamton. While his batting average has suffered, Suero has maintained a .346 on-base percentage, largely driven by walks.

"It’s been a tough year on that end," Suero acknowledged during a recent road trip. "But I try to bring anything I can to the table, and I know if the average isn’t there, there’s other ways to help the team out."

Suero, a catcher and utilityman, has been actively tweaking his swing in an effort to improve his offensive production. Despite the struggles, his ability to reach base and his defensive flexibility are seen as significant assets heading into the offseason. These unique qualities are expected to make him a prospect of considerable interest as teams assess their rosters and development pipelines.
