Chris O'Dowd Surprises Patrons with Impromptu Pub Performance

Actor Chris O'Dowd delighted patrons at a London pub with an unexpected performance, joining a live band for a spirited sing-along of the traditional Irish song, "The Rattlin' Bog." The impromptu concert, captured in a video shared by the Irish London Centre on Instagram, showed O'Dowd surrounded by friends and his wife, Dawn O'Porter, as he expertly delivered the song's lyrics while holding a beer.

O'Porter, visible in the footage, danced with her hands in the air during the performance. Other pub-goers also joined in, contributing to the lively atmosphere.

The Irish London Centre captioned the video, referencing the event and O'Dowd's status as a Primetime Emmy Award winner. Social media users reacted positively to the footage, with comments praising O'Dowd as a "legend" and expressing admiration for his spontaneous performance.

O'Dowd, originally from Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland, studied at University College Dublin before attending the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He gained widespread recognition for his role in the British comedy series "The IT Crowd." His film credits include "Bridesmaids," "This is 40," "St. Vincent," and "Molly's Game." He also appeared in the television series "Girls."

Since 2012, O'Dowd has been married to Scottish writer, director, and TV presenter Dawn O'Porter. The couple have two sons, Art and Valentine. They relocated from Los Angeles in 2024 and now divide their time between London and Margate.
