Chris Hughes has reportedly been subjected to a six-year campaign of harassment by a female stalker who has fabricated claims of an intimate relationship and has made allegations of extortion. The individual has also targeted Hughes' relationship with his girlfriend, JoJo Siwa, asserting it is a fake, contractually agreed-upon public relations arrangement.
Sources close to Hughes, 33, state that the woman's behavior has escalated in recent weeks. She has allegedly claimed that Hughes extorted £700 million from her. Despite the claims of an intimate relationship, an insider noted that the alleged meetings with Hughes would have coincided with times he was participating in the Celebrity Big Brother (CBB) house.
Hughes' team has reportedly enlisted a criminal investigator to identify the individual behind the online harassment. "Not only is she making gross claims about her link to Chris, she's alleging criminal activity," a source told The Sun. "Most upsetting to Chris though is that she has it in for him and JoJo and says it's all a fake PR relationship as part of a contract agreed before Celebrity Big Brother."
The source added that the situation is particularly difficult because the individual does not reside in the UK, complicating legal action. Hughes and Siwa, 23, began dating after meeting in the CBB house last year and recently celebrated their one-year anniversary in May. Hughes had previously expressed his readiness to propose to Siwa, telling The Sun that he has considered the timing and location for a proposal, valuing spontaneity.
Hughes has spoken about the challenges and nature of their long-distance relationship, noting that they have managed to see each other frequently, either in the UK or in America. He stated in a May interview with the Daily Mail that he has "embraced" the dynamic, finding enjoyment in visiting her and her family in the United States. While acknowledging the natural feelings of missing each other, he described the arrangement as less strenuous than often perceived. He also shared his desire for a traditional family life, including marriage and children.
