Chris Harrison Returns to Dating Genre with Fox Nation's 'The Vow'
The former 'Bachelor' host will lead a new six-episode dating series premiering Nov. 11.
Chris Harrison is set to return to the reality dating television landscape with a new series titled “Chris Harrison’s The Vow.” The six-episode show will premiere on Fox Nation on November 11, marking his reentry into the genre he hosted for many years.
A teaser for the series features Harrison adjusting his attire and offering a subtle nod to his past role on “The Bachelor.” The promotional material includes phrases such as “Roses. Faith. True love lasts forever.”
“Chris Harrison’s The Vow” will follow 30-year-old bachelor Jace Cates as he seeks marriage and long-term commitment with 10 women. The series is described by Fox Nation as focusing on faith, family, communication, and shared values, incorporating dates and “real-world compatibility challenges” for the contestants.
“I’m so excited to be back helping people find love,” Harrison stated in the announcement, expressing his belief that the producers have created “the most authentic dating show on television today.”
The new series represents Harrison’s return to the dating genre more than five years after his departure from ABC's “Bachelor” franchise. Harrison stepped away from “The Bachelor” in February 2021 following a controversial interview. In the interview, he defended contestant Rachael Kirkconnell against criticism regarding photos from a 2018 antebellum-themed college event.
His remarks, which included calls for “grace” and criticism of “woke police,” led to significant backlash, particularly given the franchise’s recent casting of Matt James as its first Black bachelor and stated commitment to diversity. Harrison issued an apology, acknowledging that “By excusing historical racism, I defended it,” and announced he would temporarily step aside.
In June 2021, ABC Entertainment and Warner Horizon confirmed Harrison's permanent exit from the franchise. At the time, Harrison expressed excitement for a “new chapter.” Reports later suggested his departure included a multi-million dollar package, though the exact figure remained unconfirmed.
