Actor Chris Evans has sold his Hollywood Hills home for $5.38 million, concluding a more than year-long process that saw the property listed and delisted with substantial price adjustments. The sale signifies the end of the actor's more than a decade-long residency in California as he prepares to spend more time on the East Coast with his wife, Alba Baptista, and their daughter, Alma.

Evans initially listed the property in May 2025 for $6.99 million. After failing to attract a buyer, the listing was removed in November. It reappeared in June with a reduced asking price of $6.39 million, a $600,000 decrease. The final sale price of $5.38 million represents a further reduction of $1.01 million from that adjusted figure. Despite the significant haircut from the original asking price, Evans purchased the property for approximately $3.52 million in 2013, ensuring a substantial profit on the sale.

Evans, originally from Sudbury, Massachusetts, stated his decision to sell was driven by a desire to be closer to his family on the East Coast. "The West Coast is beautiful, and I've spent more than a decade in this home enjoying Los Angeles," he told Realtor.com. "But I've decided to spend more time on the East Coast. It feels like the right moment to pass this beautiful property to the next owner."

Inside, the home combines contemporary finishes with warmer architectural details.

The 1940s-era Hollywood Hills property is situated behind gates on a secluded cul-de-sac, offering expansive views of the Los Angeles skyline. The location is described by listing agent Scott Moore of Christie's International Real Estate Southern California as one of the area's most exclusive neighborhoods, providing privacy while remaining close to the city center. The home is also near architecturally significant residences, including one designed by Richard Neutra.

Evans cited the views as his favorite feature of the home. The property includes extensively landscaped grounds with mature trees, gardens, terraces, and stone pathways. Outdoor amenities feature a resort-style swimming pool and spa, along with a separate seating area. Inside, the home blends modern finishes with architectural elements such as vaulted open-beam ceilings and large windows. The main living area includes a fireplace, a dining area with a wet bar, and a chef's kitchen equipped with high-end appliances. A detached guesthouse with its own bedroom, kitchen, and office, as well as a private gym, are also part of the estate.

The property was purchased just two years after Evans' first appearance as Captain America and became one of the actor's key homes during his years as one of Hollywood's biggest stars.

Evans' tenure as Steve Rogers, or Captain America, began with his 2011 debut in "Captain America: The First Avenger." He appeared in 11 Marvel Cinematic Universe films before passing the shield to Anthony Mackie. The Hollywood Hills residence was purchased two years after his first appearance as Captain America and served as a primary home during his rise to stardom.

In a 2023 GQ interview, Evans expressed a desire to reduce his acting workload. He noted, "I'll never say never, just because it was such a wonderful experience," regarding a potential return to the Marvel universe. His relocation to the East Coast aligns with a broader trend of some Hollywood figures, including Mark Wahlberg and Matthew McConaughey, establishing bases outside of Los Angeles.

The 45-year-old first put the property on the market in May 2025 for $6.99 million, but after it lingered without finding a buyer, he pulled the listing in November.

This move represents a return to his roots for Evans, who grew up in Massachusetts, as he closes this chapter of his life in Los Angeles.
