Chris Evans has spoken about how fatherhood has altered his professional outlook, stating that his "priorities have shifted" since the birth of his daughter. The "Captain America: The First Avenger" star made the remarks during an appearance at Fan Expo Boston 2026 earlier this month.

"I have a daughter now. You need a really good reason to want to go to work now," Evans, 45, said at the event. "[My] priorities have shifted a bit."

Evans shares his first child with his wife, Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, 29. The couple welcomed their daughter, Alma Grace Baptista Evans, in October 2025 in Massachusetts. Rumors of Baptista's pregnancy began circulating in June 2025 after her father made a comment on a fan account's Father's Day post.

Previously, Evans had expressed his desire to become a father. In November 2024, he told Access Hollywood that he "absolutely" wanted to start a family, calling the "title of dad an exciting one."

Following the birth of their daughter, a source told People that Evans was "completely in awe of his daughter" and "couldn’t be more proud to be a girl dad." Another insider mentioned that Evans and Baptista were "enjoying their privacy and these special first few days as a family."

Evans and Baptista, who began dating in late 2022, made a rare public appearance as a couple at the 2026 Academy Awards in March, less than five months after becoming parents. They married in September 2023 in Massachusetts, followed by a celebration with Baptista's family in Portugal.
