Chris Appleton, the celebrity hairstylist for figures like Kim Kardashian, has identified his preferred professional partner for the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing. Appleton, who was recently announced as the fourth contestant for the 2026 series, expressed his wish to be paired with American dancer Alexis Warr.
Appleton shared his preference while attending Wimbledon with his children. "I'd love to be with Alexis. She's amazing and I think our personalities would work really well together," he told the Daily Mail. Warr, 26, made her Strictly debut last year, finishing as runner-up with her partner, TikTok star George Clarke. She also gained recognition in the U.S. for winning "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2022.
Prior to commencing his rigorous training for the BBC show, Appleton spent time with his family, attending day one action at Wimbledon with his children, Billy, 23, and Kitty-Blue, 21. He also recently took his children on a Father's Day trip to Positano, Italy.
Appleton, 43, who came out as gay at 26, became a father at 19 during a nine-year relationship with his former partner, Katie Katon. He has previously stated on the "On Purpose" podcast that his "biggest focus in life is being a great dad to two kids." Both of his children reside in his home city of Los Angeles.
Professional Career
A world-renowned hairstylist, Appleton is celebrated for his work with a high-profile clientele that includes Jennifer Lopez, Sofía Vergara, Ariana Grande, and Katy Perry. Vogue UK has recognized him as a "Hair Star," and his work has graced the covers and pages of numerous prominent fashion publications.
He recently achieved a spot on The New York Times Best Sellers list for his debut memoir, "Your Roots Don't Define You."
Appleton expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Strictly lineup, stating, "I'm thrilled to be joining Strictly Come Dancing and coming home to the UK for this incredible experience. I've always believed that the best things happen when you take a chance and try something new. I may know my way around a salon floor, but the dance floor is a whole different story – and I can't wait to get started."
Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to screens later this year, with the remainder of the celebrity lineup to be announced this summer. The show will feature new hosts Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe, who are taking over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
