Chloe Fineman, a prominent cast member on Saturday Night Live, has announced her departure from the NBC sketch show after seven seasons. Fineman revealed her decision on Thursday, stating that she "decided it's time for" her "next chapter."

"It's really hard to leave SNL but it does feel like the right time," Fineman wrote on Instagram, noting her upcoming 38th birthday. "I'm going to miss it a lot. But the people who work there are my family and that place is my home, and I know I'll never be too far away."

Fineman, who joined the SNL ensemble in 2019 for season 45 and was promoted to repertory player two seasons later, expressed gratitude for her time on the show. "Every day I was lucky enough to be surrounded by the best people in the business, and I was constantly amazed watching them work," she wrote, calling the experience "the greatest privilege of my life" and expressing her debt to creator Lorne Michaels.

Her tenure on the show was marked by notable impersonations of celebrities such as Drew Barrymore, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, and Britney Spears. She also contributed to popular sketches like "Snack Homiez" with Sabrina Carpenter and "Domingo" sketches with Marcello Hernández.

Fineman has been building a film career alongside her SNL commitments, with appearances in films including "White Noise" (2022), "Babylon" (2022), and "Megalopolis" (2024). Her upcoming projects include the pickleball comedy "The Dink," set to premiere on Apple TV+ on July 24, where she stars alongside Jake Johnson, Ben Stiller, Mary Steenburgen, Ed Harris, and Patton Oswalt. She is also reportedly in negotiations to join a Netflix drama series inspired by Harlan Coben's "Myron Bolitar" book series.

Other SNL cast members have also departed recently. Ego Nwodim left the show last summer, and Bowen Yang concluded his time on the show after the December 20 episode of the past season. Fineman's departure marks another shift for the long-running sketch program following the conclusion of its 51st season on May 16.
