Chipotle is celebrating National Avocado Day by offering customers a free side of chips and guacamole with the purchase of a full-priced entrée. The promotion runs for two days, from Friday, July 31, to Saturday, August 1.
To redeem the offer, customers must place an order through the Chipotle app, add a side of chips and guacamole to their cart, and use the code AVO2026 at checkout. Children's meals are not considered eligible entrées for this promotion.
Chipotle's guacamole is made daily with Hass avocados, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, citrus juice, and salt, and contains no preservatives or artificial flavors. The company describes it as one of its most iconic menu items.
This promotion coincides with Chipotle's ongoing international expansion. The fast-casual chain opened its first restaurant in Mexico on July 16 in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, in partnership with restaurant operator Alsea. Chipotle plans to open between 350 and 370 new locations in 2026 and has existing international locations in Canada, Europe, and the Middle East, with additional openings planned in South Korea and Singapore.
Despite the promotional offerings, Chipotle has faced scrutiny regarding portion sizes. Earlier in the year, CEO Scott Boatwright addressed these concerns, suggesting customers could simply ask for more toppings if they felt their portions were light. However, this response did not quell customer complaints on social media about perceived smaller serving sizes, particularly with mobile orders.
