Children in Need cyclist Owain Wyn Evans expresses doubts about challenge
The BBC presenter cited weather and distance as concerns for the 400-mile cycling challenge.
BBC presenter Owain Wyn Evans has voiced concerns about his upcoming 400-mile cycling challenge for Children in Need, citing the distance and unpredictable weather as significant hurdles. Evans, who is set to cycle across Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, and Wales, with his journey concluding in Cardiff on November 13, expressed his doubts during a radio conversation.
"When I think about what I need to do, you know, 400 miles, four nations over the space of four or five days, I just don't feel like it's a thing I'm able to do," Evans stated. He acknowledged that while preparation is key, certain factors remain beyond his control, particularly the weather. "It's been pouring down here and also quite cold to be honest, quite chilly," he added, drawing a parallel to a previous challenge undertaken by his co-presenter.
Despite his reservations, Evans was encouraged by his colleague, who advised him to approach the challenge one day at a time. "Just keep pedalling, that's all you've got to do, and you will do it," was the advice offered, underscoring the importance of perseverance.
