Paloma Del Real, living in Malaga, Spain, and Aaron Lyon, in Los Angeles, first connected on MySpace in 2005. From their initial online interactions, Del Real felt an inexplicable familiarity with Lyon's appearance, though she couldn't pinpoint why. The distance between them, over 6,000 miles, made the feeling even more puzzling.

Lyon, then 31, had visited Malaga 18 years prior, a memory that prompted him to send friend requests to strangers from cities he had visited. Del Real, 22 at the time, was certain they hadn't met during his visit, as she would have been only four years old.

Their connection deepened through daily online conversations. The mystery of their familiarity was eventually solved when Lyon mentioned his past as a teen model. Del Real then recalled seeing him on "Linea Directa," the Spanish version of the popular 1990s electronic board game "Dream Phone." Lyon was the game's standout heartthrob, known as "Gorgeous George," whose image was prominently featured on the packaging and in marketing. Del Real, as a child, had played the game frequently, hoping to hear George's voice as her secret admirer.

Upon realizing Lyon was the real-life "George" from her childhood game, Del Real initially kept the discovery to herself, not wanting to jeopardize their budding relationship. Lyon, however, was already falling deeply in love with her. He later commented that their connection, sparked by a shared past involving "Dream Phone," felt fated.

After a year of consistent online communication, they decided to pursue their relationship in person. Del Real, having recently completed university and trained as a flight attendant, used her travel opportunities to visit Lyon in Los Angeles. Before her training was even complete, Lyon visited her in Barcelona, an experience that solidified their desire to be together.

Their relationship progressed with Lyon spending extended time in Malaga and meeting Del Real's family. Later, Del Real visited Lyon in Los Angeles and met his family in New Hampshire. During this trip, she discovered she was pregnant with their first child. Lyon subsequently sold his belongings and moved to Spain to be with Del Real, and they married in 2010.

More than two decades after their first MySpace exchange, the couple has been married for 16 years, raising four children and maintaining a household of pets. Lyon, now 52, works in luxury real estate, while Del Real, 43, has returned to her career as a flight attendant.

Their story gained wider attention when a TikTok creator posted a video series about "Dream Phone," aiming to find the boys featured in the game. The post reached Del Real, who revealed she was married to "George," sparking interest in their unique connection. Lyon, at 17, had been cast as "Gorgeous George" by his amateur photographer mother, seeking a summer job that paid a modest fee. The game, released by Milton Bradley, became a significant commercial success, leading to Lyon being recognized by strangers. Despite the game's popularity, Lyon admitted to being shy at that age and that the "George" persona sometimes caused complications with other boys. He has never actually played the game himself but acknowledges its pivotal role in his life, stating, "Maybe if I hadn't been on the game, I wouldn't be where I am today. She's my soulmate and we'll be together forever without a doubt."
