Child Critically Injured After Shooting Inside Sydney Home

An 11-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot inside a home in Sydney's northwest. Emergency services were dispatched to a property on Fairway Drive in Norwest around 5 p.m. on Monday.

Officers from The Hills Police Area command arrived at the scene and found the child had sustained gunshot wounds to the face and neck. Paramedics provided treatment before transporting the boy to a hospital in a serious condition. Five other individuals were present in the home at the time of the incident and were unharmed.

Initial police investigations suggest the firearm was discharged within the residence. The circumstances leading to the discharge remain unclear.

A formal investigation into the incident has been launched. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
