Chiefs Cornerback Ejected for Throwing Punch Against Chargers

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace was ejected from Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers after throwing a punch in the fourth quarter. The incident occurred during the Chiefs' 22-6 victory.

CBS broadcast replays showed Wallace delivering a punch to the helmet of Chargers offensive tackle Alex Harkey as Harkey was attempting to get up after a play. Prior to the punch, Harkey was seen pushing Wallace into Kansas City linebacker Nick Bolton after the whistle had blown.

Wallace's action resulted in a 15-yard penalty and his removal from the game. He could also face a suspension and a fine for the unsportsmanlike conduct. Wallace recorded four tackles in the game, with three of them being solo.

The loss further deepened the struggles for the Chargers, who are now 0-6 on the season. The team accumulated 259 yards of offense and failed to score a touchdown. Despite quarterback Justin Herbert completing a 57-yard pass to Quentin Johnston in the third quarter that set the team up one yard from the end zone, a subsequent holding penalty pushed them back. They ultimately settled for a 30-yard field goal.

Herbert finished the game with 204 passing yards on 22 of 37 completions, throwing his eighth interception of the season. The Chargers' rushing game also faltered, managing only 73 yards on the ground. Herbert was the team's leading rusher with 26 yards. The team also dealt with injuries, as wide receiver Ladd McConkey left the game in the second quarter with a concussion after making a 17-yard reception.
