Despite being a co-owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, Dan Hunt was not among the guests invited to the wedding of Chiefs player Travis Kelce and singer Taylor Swift. Hunt, who also serves as president of MLS side FC Dallas, told CBS this week that he was not present at Madison Square Garden for the ceremony.
"Apparently, I don't sing well enough to get invited," Hunt said, joking about the situation. He added that he was frequently asked about the event throughout the summer. His brother, Clark Hunt, who is the Chiefs CEO and chairman, did attend the wedding. "My brother was there and I talked to him and he said, 'Look it was really special and it was really unique.' And we were all so happy for him," Hunt stated.
Hunt extended an invitation to both Kelce and Swift to attend a match at FC Dallas's stadium in Frisco, Texas, though he acknowledged it might occur after Kelce's NFL career concludes. "I'm working on it. We'll have to see," he said. "It'll probably be after Travis retiring, but they're always welcome down here. She does have a busy schedule, though. You know how it goes as a star, but a match and coming to TOCA Social would be fun."
Kelce himself has described the wedding as "the best night of my life" and expressed gratitude to those who attended and celebrated with him. The wedding ceremony was held during a period of increased attention on soccer in the United States due to the FIFA World Cup. Hunt expressed anticipation for the atmosphere if Kelce and Swift were to attend an FC Dallas match. "Travis is one of the most fun individuals I've ever been around in my life," Hunt commented. "I can only imagine what it would be like to have him here doing it. Maybe it'll come true. Who knows?"
The wedding guests were reportedly not allowed to have phones, and details about the festivities have remained private, with the couple and their guests staying tight-lipped about the event.
