Chet Hanks Confronts Eric André Over Past Comments
Chet Hanks confronted comedian Eric André at ComplexCon, sharing a video of the encounter on Instagram where he addressed the comedian's prior remarks about him.
Chet Hanks, son of actor Tom Hanks, confronted comedian Eric André last weekend at ComplexCon regarding their long-standing feud. Hanks shared a video of the interaction on his Instagram, documenting the encounter.
In his Instagram post, Hanks, 36, stated that André had "NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER of trashing me to the media after I outshined him on his own show!!" He added that after being shielded by his security team, André admitted his issue stemmed from Hanks mocking Caribbean culture with a Jamaican accent years prior. Hanks sarcastically remarked on André's sudden role as a "passionate cultural activist."
The video shows Hanks approaching André, who initially appears unaware of any ongoing conflict. As Hanks voices his grievances, André appears confused, with Hanks noting that André eventually admitted to having a problem with his past behavior.
The encounter concluded with André leaving with his security, and Hanks telling his friends that the confrontation was "a long time coming."
André had previously spoken to Rolling Stone in 2023 about Hanks' appearance on "The Eric Andre Show," stating that Hanks "broke our crew. It felt like ‘Rust.’ He broke us down." André further described Hanks as "emotionally disturbed" and claimed that Hanks had "stole[n] a motorcycle and rode it around" and was "very dangerous" on set. André also questioned how Tom Hanks' other son, Colin Hanks, came out so differently.
At the time of André's remarks, Hanks responded on his Instagram Stories, calling André a "p---y" and asserting that he had "outshined" the comedian and was merely matching the energy of the show's guests.
