Chet Hanks Confronts Eric André at ComplexCon, Reigniting Years-Old Feud

Chet Hanks confronted comedian Eric André at ComplexCon in Los Angeles in October 2026, escalating a public feud that began years prior. The encounter, captured on video, occurred more than three years after Hanks' appearance on André's talk show, "The Eric André Show," in 2023, which marked the start of their public animosity.

During the festival, Hanks approached André, tapping him on the shoulder. Video footage obtained by TMZ shows André turning around and extending his hand, but Hanks did not reciprocate. The interaction quickly devolved into a shouting match, requiring André's security team to intervene and escort him away from the situation.

Following the incident, Hanks took to Instagram to mock André, commenting on his need for security. He also claimed André had "NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER of trashing me to the media after I outshined him on his show!!" Hanks further alleged that André admitted his grievance stemmed from Hanks "mocking Caribbean culture" during his time on the show.

The feud originated in March 2023 when Hanks was a guest on "The Eric André Show." Reports from the time indicated that Hanks behaved disruptively during filming, allegedly stealing a motorcycle and riding it around the studio. In the aftermath, André spoke to Rolling Stone, describing Hanks' behavior as "very dangerous" and comparing the set environment to that of the film "Rust," which was marred by a fatal accident. André also referred to Hanks as "emotionally disturbed."

Hanks responded via his Instagram Stories, accusing André of being a "p---y" and claiming he was upset because Hanks had "outshined" him on his own program. André, in turn, seemingly responded to Hanks' comments by calling him a "liar" and challenging him to take a DNA test to prove Tom Hanks is his father.
