Cher's Son Indicted on Felony Charge for Alleged Home Break-In

Elijah Blue Allman, 50, the son of music legend Cher, has been indicted on felony criminal mischief charges in New Hampshire. The indictment stems from an alleged incident where Allman broke into a woman's home and smoked a cigarette on her couch, according to reports.

Police arrested Allman on March 1 after he reportedly smashed a back door to a home in Windham, New Hampshire. The occupant called 911 while hiding in a closet, authorities said.

The incident occurred two days after Allman was also arrested for an alleged disturbance at the private school St. Paul's in Concord, New Hampshire. At that time, the Concord Police Department stated that Allman was causing a 'disturbance' and acting 'belligerently' in the school's dining hall. For the school incident, Allman faced charges including simple assault, criminal threatening, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct.

Records indicate that Allman pleaded not guilty to charges of criminal mischief, burglary, and breach of bail following his initial arrest. This week, a grand jury returned an indictment on the criminal mischief charge. Allman's arraignment date for this felony charge is set for October 2, and a competency hearing is scheduled for November regarding the St. Paul's incident.

Allman is currently receiving treatment at New Hampshire State Hospital, which has reportedly stalled the criminal proceedings.

This year's legal troubles follow a difficult period for Allman, who was hospitalized after a drug overdose in June 2025. He has a documented history of drug abuse and has undergone multiple rehabilitation programs. Cher's application for a conservatorship over her son due to his substance abuse issues was denied in January 2024.

Authorities stated that Allman gained access to the St. Paul's campus by posing as the parent of a prospective student. During the school incident, he was described as acting erratically and allegedly approached female students before security intervened. Students reported seeing police vehicles arrive at the dining hall where Allman was present. He was described by one student as looking like a 'crackhead' and was reportedly wearing a cane and a long robe.
