Chelsea Secures Top Four Spot with Victory Over Everton
Pedro Neto scores a brace as Chelsea defeats Everton 2-0, but goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez sustains a head injury.
Chelsea has climbed into the top four of the Premier League following a decisive 2-0 victory against Everton. The win was secured by a second-half performance that saw Pedro Neto score in quick succession.
Neto opened the scoring just 47 seconds after the half-time interval and later sealed the victory with a calm finish in stoppage time. This result marks the end of Everton's undefeated home record.
However, the win was tempered by a serious injury to Chelsea's goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez. He was stretchered off the pitch after a significant head clash with Everton's Jarrod Branthwaite during a set piece midway through the second half.
The match also saw several yellow cards issued. Morgan Rogers was booked for an off-the-ball incident with Everton's James Tarkowski, and shortly after, he received another yellow card for a strong collision with James Garner.
