Charlotte Crosby Undergoes Surgery After Second Silent Miscarriage
The television personality shared the news from her hospital bed, detailing the emotional toll of her loss.
Charlotte Crosby has revealed she is undergoing surgery following her second silent miscarriage. The 36-year-old shared a photo from her hospital bed on Friday, marking the second time she has experienced this type of pregnancy loss.
Her fiancé, Jake Ankers, first shared the image and expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from followers. "Every comment, message and personal experience you've all shared with us about pregnancy and miscarriage has meant more than you'll ever know," he wrote, adding that the messages provided "so much hope during such a difficult time."
Ankers described the day as one of the "longest and hardest days of his life" as Crosby returned home from the hospital. He acknowledged the significant physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion experienced by both of them. "This whole week has been incredibly difficult, both physically and emotionally," he stated.
Crosby had previously announced the heartbreaking news of her miscarriage on Instagram. She explained that she discovered she was pregnant last month and was overjoyed, especially after her first silent miscarriage earlier in the year. However, at her eight-week scan, they learned the pregnancy had ended.
"It felt like someone had ripped our hearts out of our chests," Crosby wrote about the moment she found out. "We lost another baby, another silent miscarriage."
A silent miscarriage occurs when an individual does not experience typical symptoms of pregnancy loss, such as bleeding or cramping. Crosby shared her story to help process the grief and to connect with others who may be going through similar experiences. "I wanted to share this because this is my life, and this is our story. Sometimes sharing the hardest parts helps me carry them a little more easily," she said. "And if you're going through something similar, you're not alone."
Crosby and Ankers are parents to daughters Alba, three, and Pixi, 20 months. Crosby has been open about her desire to expand their family.
Following her announcement, Crosby received messages of support from various celebrity friends, including Paris Fury and Jacqueline Jossa.
This is not the first pregnancy complication Crosby has faced. In May, she underwent a D&C procedure after her first miscarriage, later developing an infection that caused severe pain. In 2016, she experienced an ectopic pregnancy, which led to the removal of her right fallopian tube and ovary and nearly cost her life.
