Charlotte Crosby Suffers Second Silent Miscarriage
The former Geordie Shore star announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram, revealing she learned of the loss at an eight-week scan.
Charlotte Crosby, 36, has announced she has suffered a second silent miscarriage just five months after her first. The former Geordie Shore star shared the devastating news on Instagram on Friday, explaining that she discovered she was pregnant last month but learned at her eight-week scan that she had miscarried.
Crosby and her fiancé Jake Ankers, with whom she shares two daughters, Alba, three, and Pixi, 20 months, had been open about their desire to expand their family. "Last month, we got the news we'd been hoping for. We found out we were pregnant," Crosby wrote in her post. "It's no secret that we've been trying to grow our family, so you can imagine the overwhelming happiness we felt when we saw the positive test."
She described the pregnancy as having "a lot of mixed emotions and nerves," particularly after her previous silent miscarriage earlier in the year. "It was a combination of happiness and fear at the same time," she stated. "The nerves were still there deep down, as they are with every pregnancy... and to be honest those nerves never go! Even when your baby is in your arms!"
Crosby recounted the moment of discovery: "It felt like someone had ripped our hearts out of our chests. We lost another baby, another silent miscarriage." A silent miscarriage occurs when there are no external symptoms of pregnancy loss, such as cramping or bleeding.
Following the loss, Crosby expressed uncertainty about the future, stating, "I'm not sure where we can go from here and the future feels a little uncertain." She added that while they would "absolutely love to grow our family," the "fear of feeling this heartbreak again is terrifying." Crosby chose to share her experience, explaining, "I wanted to share this because this is my life, and this is our story. Sometimes sharing the hardest parts helps me carry them a little more easily. And if you're going through something similar, you're not alone."
Crosby's announcement was met with a flood of supportive messages from celebrity friends, including Paris Fury and Jacqueline Jossa. In May, Crosby underwent a D&C procedure following her first miscarriage, later developing an infection that caused significant pain. She also previously suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2016, which resulted in the removal of her right fallopian tube and ovary, a condition that nearly cost her life.
