Charlotte Crosby Shares Emotional Update on Daughter's Illness Amidst Parenting Challenges

Charlotte Crosby has described experiencing "the hardest day of parenting life" as her one-year-old daughter, Pixi, grappled with the painful symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease.

Crosby, known for her role in Geordie Shore, shared on Instagram Stories that Pixi's mouth was severely affected by ulcers, leading to constant crying and a struggle to stay hydrated. The infant had reportedly not eaten for two days, managing only small amounts of sorbet and soup. Crosby noted that Pixi required frequent bib changes due to excessive drooling.

Adding to the challenge, the difficult day coincided with her elder daughter Alba's fourth birthday. Crosby explained that she and her fiancé, Jake Ankers, felt torn between caring for Pixi and ensuring Alba's birthday was special, acknowledging a sense of guilt for not being able to give Alba their full attention. Plans are in place for a birthday party on the weekend to compensate, with hopes that Pixi will be feeling better by then.

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness, typically affecting children under five. Symptoms include fever, sore throat, fatigue, and painful mouth sores. The condition is contagious and runs its course within seven to ten days, with treatment focusing on hydration and pain management.

This period of intense parenting also follows Crosby's public discussion of a silent miscarriage she experienced. She shared the emotional impact of discovering she was pregnant with a third child, only to learn at a six-week scan that the pregnancy was not active. The experience, she stated, has solidified her and Ankers' desire for a third child, with hopes to conceive in the summer and marry next year.
