Charlotte Chilton, known for her appearance on the second series of The Traitors, has been hospitalized following a severe trigeminal neuralgia (TN) attack. The incident occurred six months after the reality television personality underwent life-saving brain surgery to treat the chronic condition.
Chilton, 35, shared an image from her hospital bed on social media, accompanying it with the caption, "Another day, another TN attack." Trigeminal neuralgia is characterized by sudden, intense episodes of facial pain described as electric shock-like. According to the NHS, these attacks can last from seconds to two minutes and are often triggered by common activities such as chewing, brushing teeth, talking, or exposure to cold air.
The hospitalization follows a series of health challenges for Chilton. In January, she experienced a seizure that left her temporarily unable to walk. This seizure occurred shortly after her initial discharge from the hospital where she had undergone brain surgery. A source close to Chilton reported that she was feeling run down, had developed tonsillitis and mouth ulcers, and that doctors suspected the seizure might have been related to new medication. At the time, her arms were described as limp, and she was unable to walk, an experience deemed "absolutely terrifying."
Prior to the January seizure and subsequent surgery, Chilton had been rushed to the emergency room due to a "terrible" trigeminal neuralgia attack, which she described as "physical torture." The neurosurgery aimed to provide long-term relief for the condition, sometimes referred to as "the suicide disease" due to its severe impact on mental health. After nearly three weeks in the hospital, she was discharged and shared her relief at being reunited with her daughter, Penelope, whom she affectionately calls her "miracle baby."
Chilton has spoken about her ongoing battle with trigeminal neuralgia, having previously undergone brain surgery in her twenties for the condition. She also made headlines in June 2024 when she alleged that popstar Conor Maynard was the father of her daughter, following a one-night stand. Subsequent paternity tests indicated Maynard was not the father, although Chilton has maintained her claim.
