Charlize Theron, 50, has become the subject of widespread online speculation regarding her notably thin figure, which was on display at the Paris premiere of her new film, "The Odyssey." The actress attended the event in a floral Christian Dior gown that featured a plunging neckline, drawing significant attention to her perceived weight loss.

Discussions on social media platform X quickly turned to rumors, with many users suggesting the use of Ozempic, a diabetes medication also used for weight loss. Comments ranged from "Ozempic got another baddie" to concerns that the trend of extreme thinness, referred to by some as "corpsemaxxing," is becoming prevalent. Some users expressed shock at her appearance, with one noting, "From Mad Max warrior to this frail shadow? Ozempic didn't just melt fat, it erased the baddie."

However, Theron also received support from others who defended her. "The internet really sees a thinner celebrity and immediately screams 'ozempic,'" one user commented, while another insisted her appearance was "a result of proper workout daily and health foods."

Representatives for Theron have been contacted for comment. The actress has previously spoken about her dedication to maintaining a healthy physique. In a 2017 interview with Red magazine, she detailed a diet of "juices and kale and green salads every single day," adding that she looks and feels her best when eating healthily, getting enough sleep, and abstaining from alcohol. She also discussed portion control in a 2007 interview with Elle UK, stating she would eat a quarter of a burger if she craved one rather than deprive herself.

Theron has also highlighted her fitness routines, telling Harper's Bazaar in 2018 that she had "fallen in love with Pilates" and followed a diet of "plant-based raw foods." She emphasized the importance of activity, noting, "If I haven’t been moving a lot, I can’t eat a lot. Or maybe it’s a cheat day. But I’m honest with myself."

"The Odyssey," directed by Christopher Nolan, features Theron as the sea goddess Calypso. The film has garnered positive reviews from critics. Its world premiere was held in London, and it is scheduled for theatrical release in the U.S. and U.K. on July 17. The all-star cast includes Matt Damon as Odysseus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope, with Tom Holland as Telemachus and Zendaya as Athena. Robert Pattinson plays the suitor Antinous, and Samantha Morton portrays Circe. Jon Bernthal and Benny Safdie also appear in the film.
