Brothers Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez recently reunited with several of their "Young Guns" co-stars for an event at Fan Expo in Dallas, Texas. The gathering, which took place on Saturday, brought together actors who starred in the 1988 Western film.
Lou Diamond Phillips, who also starred in "Young Guns," shared a photo on social media featuring himself alongside Sheen, Estevez, Casey Siemaszko, Kiefer Sutherland, and Dermot Mulroney. Phillips captioned the post "F’ing Epic!"
The original "Young Guns" film fictionalized the story of outlaw Billy the Kid, with Estevez portraying the titular character. The movie was a commercial success, grossing $56 million against an $11 million budget, and was followed by a sequel in 1990. Sheen did not appear in the second film, as his character was killed off in the first installment.
While the brothers have collaborated on other projects, including the 1999 Showtime movie "Rated X," and Estevez had a cameo on Sheen's sitcom "Two and a Half Men," their joint appearances have been infrequent.
In January, Estevez announced plans for a potential third "Young Guns" film, tentatively titled "Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive," and joked that the title should be "Old Guns." He indicated that Phillips and Christian Slater would also be involved. However, updates on the project's status have not been provided. Both Sheen and Estevez have discussed the possibility of future collaborations, with Estevez having noted in a past interview that they are frequently asked about working together again.
In a 2025 interview, director Andrew Renzi stated that both Estevez and their father, Martin Sheen, were supportive of the Netflix documentary "aka Charlie Sheen," despite not participating in it. Renzi described the family as being "very close."
