The stars of the beloved television series "Charlie's Angels" reunited at the 2026 Emmy Awards, captivating audiences with their enduring appearances and paying tribute to their late castmate Farrah Fawcett.
Jaclyn Smith, 80, Kate Jackson, 77, and Cheryl Ladd, 75, whose collective age is 232, appeared together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the show that became a cultural phenomenon. They took to the stage to present the Emmy for Drama Series.
"I would like to acknowledge someone not standing with us tonight, and that's my friend Farrah Fawcett," Smith said during their remarks. "As I said many times, charisma doesn't need a second season. She's here, and she's here with us in everyone's collective memory."
Fawcett, who starred as Jill Munroe in the first season, left the series to pursue other acting opportunities. She died in 2009 at the age of 62 after a battle with cancer. Jackson remembered Fawcett as "the shiniest angel of all," adding that she was "loved by millions of people all over the world, and she still is today and they'll never forget her."
Ladd, who joined the show in its second season as Kris Munroe, Fawcett's character's sister, recalled Fawcett's iconic poster. "And her iconic poster lives in the minds and the garages of many a man," she said.
"Charlie's Angels" debuted in 1976, following three female private detectives working for a millionaire client named Charlie. The series was groundbreaking for its portrayal of women in positions of power and quickly became a hit. Smith was the only actress to remain on the show for all five seasons, appearing in all 110 episodes.
Smith reflected on the strong bonds formed during the show's production. "It was like a college dorm, eating in our trailers together," she recalled. "Sometimes we'd shop on weekends for what we were going to wear. We were not just actresses working, but girlfriends and it remained that way for 40 years."
Fawcett's decision to leave after the first season was supported by her castmates. "When Farrah decided to leave after one season, we all supported her," Smith stated. "She wasn't afraid to say, 'This is what I'm gonna do.' Farrah wanted to be seen as a serious actress."
Fawcett's passing was announced by her partner, Ryan O'Neal, who stated at the time, "After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away." He added that her family and friends took comfort in the shared memories and the joy she brought to others.
The reunion at the Emmys highlighted the lasting impact of "Charlie's Angels" and the enduring legacy of its stars, particularly Farrah Fawcett.
