‘Charlie’s Angels’ Star Jaclyn Smith Recounts Threesome Invitation

Actress Jaclyn Smith claims her "Charlie's Angels" costar Tanya Roberts invited her to participate in a threesome with Roberts and her husband. The alleged invitation occurred during a flight to Hawaii while they were en route to film the popular television series.

Smith, 80, detailed the incident in her memoir, "I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie," released earlier this month. According to People, Smith wrote that Roberts, who died in 2021 at age 65, was open about her marriage not being exclusive and that she and her husband, Barry Roberts, were "not shy about it in the least, or about propositioning people to 'swing' with them."

Smith stated that she declined the offer but found Roberts' "honesty about her sexuality to be brave and self-aware." In comments reported by USA Today, Smith reflected, "The world is made up of all kinds of people with all kinds of passions, and hooray for that. My own perspective on marriage was traditional, based on the values I grew up with. Her choice seemed complicated to me, with great potential for hurt feelings."

The memoir's release coincides with "Charlie's Angels" approaching its 50th anniversary.

In a separate anecdote, a 61-year-old prison pharmacy technician has been banned from her profession after being caught smuggling drugs into a correctional facility. The woman reportedly began an online relationship with an inmate and was later paid to smuggle contraband. During a strip search, she was found with cocaine and a synthetic drug stuffed in her bra. She admitted to prior smuggling of SIM cards for money and stated she was in debt and partly doing it for the inmate. She was found guilty and sentenced to six years in prison in February. Her ban from working as a pharmacy technician followed a ruling by the General Pharmaceutical Council that she had breached professional standards.
