A statue of conservative activist Charlie Kirk located outside the Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, was vandalized on Sunday morning, just days after its unveiling. The memorial was found covered in red spray paint, according to reports.
Phoenix Police Department officers responded to the scene around 9 a.m. after receiving a report of the defaced statue. Another memorial at the site, which featured Kirk alongside a quote, was also targeted. A large red 'X' was spray-painted over his face, and red paint covered the inscription on the second memorial. American flags and flowers were present near the vandalized memorials.
It remains unclear if any suspects have been identified.
The statue was unveiled on Thursday, marking the first anniversary of Kirk's death. Kirk, a co-founder and leader of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA and an ally of former President Donald Trump, was 31 years old at the time of his death. He was fatally shot in the neck by a sniper on September 10, 2025, while hosting a debate event at Utah Valley University. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital after being rushed from the scene.
