A statue honoring Charlie Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, is scheduled to be unveiled in New York City's Times Square on September 10, marking the first anniversary of his death. Italian artist Sergio Furnari announced the plan on Instagram, describing the metal sculpture as a tribute crafted with "hand, soul and body."
Furnari stated the statue will be placed in the "center of the universe," referring to Times Square, on the anniversary of Kirk's passing. Kirk, who was 31 at the time of his death, is depicted in the statue wearing a gray sweatshirt with the word "FREEDOM" emblazoned across the chest. He is also shown holding a microphone, a nod to his frequent public debates and campus appearances, including one at Utah Valley University where he was fatally shot.
"It’s going to be in the middle of Times Square, the center of the universe," Furnari said, according to News Nation. He added that the statue offers an opportunity for supporters to "find a little bit of peace or harmony."
