Charles Lowe Shares Tribute to Granddaughter Fiona After Her Death at 13

Charles Lowe, father of actor Chad Lowe and brother to Rob Lowe, shared a touching tribute to his granddaughter Fiona, who died at the age of 13. Charles posted a photograph of Fiona smiling while swimming, writing, "Rest in peace sweet Fiona." The family announced Fiona's passing on Tuesday, directing those struggling with mental health to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

"We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona," the family said in a statement. "She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance. She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."

Fiona's parents, Chad Lowe and Kim Painter, also have two other daughters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. Chad Lowe, 58, and Painter, 52, have been married since 2010. Fiona reportedly died at home early Tuesday morning.

Friends of Chad Lowe offered condolences, with actor Cary Elwes posting on Instagram, "Our hearts are broken for you all. Thinking of you and praying for you. Always." Marlee Matlin shared, "My heart is broken into pieces. Fly high, Fiona Lowe. Love you Chad and Kim."

Lowe, known for his roles in "ER," "24," and "Melrose Place," has previously spoken about his love for his daughters. In August 2024, he reflected on being a "girl dad" on the "Still Here Hollywood" podcast, saying, "Having daughters is such an incredible privilege." He also shared photos of his daughters visiting the ruins of their childhood home in Los Angeles after the Palisades wildfire in February 2025, praising their resilience.

In November of the previous year, Lowe posted a birthday tribute to Fiona, celebrating her 13th birthday and writing, "Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!"
