Charles Barkley revealed that he declined an invitation to the wedding of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, citing his general practice of not attending such events. Barkley, who has a friendship with both Kelce brothers, stated his decision stemmed from a personal rule about weddings.

"I don’t go to weddings. I love Travis. Him and Jason are great friends of mine. I got a lot of love and respect – I’ve only met Taylor one time, she’s an awesome person from a distance, and I’m happy for them. But I’m like, ‘Nah, I’m gonna politely decline,’" Barkley said during an appearance on Barstool Sports’ "Pardon My Take." He added that he did not want to overshadow the bride on her wedding day, emphasizing, "That’s the bride’s special day, let her enjoy herself. It’s your special day. I want her to have all the shine."

Despite the high-profile nature of the event, which reportedly drew around 1,000 guests, Barkley maintained his stance. He also indicated that he applies a similar principle to funerals, only attending if the person was exceptionally special.

Barkley's career in the NBA spanned 16 seasons, earning him 11 All-Star selections and an MVP award in the 1992-93 season. He is currently a basketball analyst for "Inside the NBA."
