Radio host Charlamagne Tha God criticized Vice President JD Vance's recent plea for "another chance" ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, urging the vice president to instead highlight the Trump administration's achievements.
Vance appeared on the "All-In" podcast this week, where he asked voters for "another chance, or give us another couple of years." He was seeking to persuade Americans not to vote for Democrats, citing the administration's actions.
However, Charlamagne questioned the request, stating, "You're the vice president right now. Donald Trump is the president right now. Republicans control Congress right now... this is the chance."
Charlamagne, whose birth name is Lenard McKelvey, argued that voters have a right to question what has been accomplished with the time already given. He suggested that voters would be more interested in what the administration promised, what it delivered, what got better, and what got worse.
"If the Trump administration believes it has accomplishments it can point to, then point to them! OK? Make the case! I don’t give a damn about you pleading for another chance," Charlamagne stated, eventually naming Vance "Donkey of the Day."
The administration has faced criticism regarding its handling of economic issues, including a nationwide affordability crisis. Vance, during his podcast appearance, touted tax cuts, which some reports suggest favored the wealthy, and the administration's immigration agenda. Charlamagne countered that promises made regarding affordability, lowering prices, affordable housing, and peace have not been kept.
Charlamagne described Vance's plea as a "stupid thing for a sitting vice president to say," adding that it would be a "pleasure" to vote for the Republican Party if they were fulfilling their promises. He emphasized that voters heard promises about making life better for working Americans, which he contends were not kept.
