Assault and stalking charges against Ahmed Al Ahmed, who gained recognition for his actions during a mass shooting at Bondi Beach, are expected to be dropped. Police are reportedly preparing to withdraw the charges at Bankstown Local Court.
Al Ahmed, 44, was charged in June with stalking and assaulting his father at a property in Bankstown, southwest Sydney, on March 9. He pleaded not guilty to the charges later that month.
Al Ahmed became known as the "Bondi hero" after he disarmed one of the gunmen during the December 14 mass shooting incident at Bondi Beach. The upcoming court appearance is scheduled to address the charges filed against him.
