Chargers Safety Expresses Unwavering Super Bowl Belief Despite 0-3 Start

The Los Angeles Chargers are maintaining an optimistic outlook for their season, even after falling to an 0-3 record following a 24-16 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Despite the team's winless start, five-time Pro Bowl safety Derwin James expressed strong confidence in their potential, stating, "Hell yeah! I mean, 14-3 man. I feel like we can go still man and we’re getting better every game... we gotta keep attacking. That’s all we can do."

James suggested that the team's defense showed improvement against the Bills, forcing five turnovers, including two interceptions of quarterback Josh Allen. However, he believes the defense could have achieved even greater success, stating, "We should have had six today. That’s how we look at it as. We don’t look at it as finger-pointing."

The Chargers' offensive struggles were evident in the second half, particularly their inability to score in the red zone. In one instance during the third quarter, the team was pushed back from the one-yard line due to two false start penalties, resulting in a field goal.

Quarterback Justin Herbert has thrown four interceptions this season, a departure from his usual performance. In the final minutes of the game against the Bills, Herbert threw an interception that led to the Bills scoring to extend their lead. The Chargers managed a late field goal but ultimately lost by eight points.

With a challenging schedule ahead, the Chargers face an uphill battle to turn their season around, despite James' persistent optimism.
